Whilst the project started some 9 days ago and the more diligent of the team had been snapping away, I had been away (somewhere warm), so on return to the UK no where better to get a reality check that to look at the life blood of Liverpool, New Brighton the mouth of the Mersey…
A bollard near Hope Street has been decorated with a random tshirt.

‘Outhouse’ by local artists Vong Phaophanit and Claire Oboussier was conceived as a sculpture and a useable social space. Located in a strip of woodland off Menlove Avenue. Based on a local terraced house scaled to two thirds of it’s size with transparent glass walls and opaque windows. Inside blocks of sandstone arranged at differing heights mark the position of the once internal walls, at the time were covered as Christmas presents ! By day the sculpture changes it’s appearance with the weather and time of day, at night is lit from underneath by neon, to create a glowing red landmark within the dark woodland

From New Brighton the sea swell almost makes you think of the surfing possibilities! Maybe Liverpool can become the new Cornwall.
