Lien Cheung Manager of Homelink Education Centre is responsible for an adult community learning in Homelink, which was formally known as Priority Limited, a charitable company limited by guarantee in June 1983, and has operated as an umbrella charity delivering innovative and unique practice. 

The Homelink Education Centre project has been in existence since 1972, initially set up to foster good links for pre-school parents at home and in school.  The original project involved home visits to enhance the skills of parents in developing children’s abilities before they started school.  The tradition within Homelink service of user led and defined services is one that fits strategically within the current operating environment of lifelong learning.

This ethos is still maintained within its main programme of delivery at Homelink Education Centre.  Its main provision is to provide community learning to adults that encourages the local communities to identify their own needs, aspirations and future goals.

In a set that included hits such as Moving, Pumping On Your Stereo and Sun Hits The Sky, Supergrass finished off their set at Carling Academy with their 1994 debut single Caught By The Fuzz.

Crashing waves pound the promenade near the Brittania pub on Riverside Drive. Gales of up to 76mph battered Merseyside which left houses damaged and trees uprooted.The high tide and ferocious conditions made it dangerous for anyone to stand at the waterfront but with care spectacular photographs can be taken.

New Brighton Lighthouse has marked the entrance to the river for nearly 190 years. Construction started in 1827. Here facing winds of 80 mph and waves which pound her she is in pretty good shape. A ship in the distance races in on the full tide - must have been some ride.

Referred to as the “Lungs of the Mersey”, New Brighton promenade is open to the bashing Irish sea. Somehow everybody following the constant news alerts to the weather conditions expected on Monday were a little disappointed. However the early morning news today quoting lorries overturned by high winds on the M6 and the Runcorn freeway, suggested their might be a swell on the high tide… crashing over the walls it was spectacular! The prom road was blocked off to stop cars getting a free car wash but the brave simply parked on the other side of the open ground and walked over for a shower.
