In a busy musical week for Liverpool, including the Sound City festival and ahead of the Paul McCartney-fronted Liverpool Sound gig at Anfield, tourists continue to visit the site of the iconic Beatles song, scrawling their greetings on the painted street sign.

Author Mal Peet writer of many educational picture books for young children supported Liverpool’s International Neighbours Day. Liverpool residents are getting ready to play their part in a mass celebration of community spirit. He visited schools, libarys and community centres which held  coffee mornings, carnivals, garden parties and community gatherings. There was also a chance to see work created as part of the Four Corners projects, which involves residents producing art to celebrate their local community.

2 days before Liverpool One was set to open I met up with a couple of
local lads who had worked on various buildings.  They had contributed
to John Lewis and Debenhams, along with a few other smaller stores.
On the left is Anthony Cuddy, and on the right is Jay Ramzan.  Both
local guys who were happy to have worked on making Liverpool better.
